Directions in short

Once you are in Vienna:

  • The Metro Station for the Conference and AGM venue is Karlsplatz (get there by U1/red line, U2/violet line, U4/green line), follow the signs “Karlsplatz” > “Wiedner Hauptstraße” or “Resselpark” to the exit. Ask for “Technische Universität (TU), Hauptgebäude” if needed.
  • The Metro Station for the Eurodoc Delegation’s Accommodation is Keplerplatz (get there by U1/red line). Take the exit “Raaber-Bahn-Gasse”. The place is around the corner from there in Columbusgasse 16.

Vienna International Airport

You should calculate 1-2 hours from the arrival of your plane to the conference venue or the hostel. The last train is at 0:18, the first at 4:54.

Train Connections

Train schedule


Please note that Wien Südbahnhof is partly closed due to reconstruction works. Further information about departure and arrival stations for international trains can be found here.

International day trains from/to Czech Republic and Bratislava also call at Wien Simmering (connection to underground line U3). Train tickets can be bought up to three months in advance.

Bus Connections

  • Eurolines
  • Orangeways destinations in Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Croatia and Romania with hub in Budapest.

Most of the long-distance buses arrive and depart from the International Bus Terminal at Erdbergstraße 200A, located next to the underground station „Erdberg“ (line U3).

Cars, Hitchhiking, Car-Pools

Park your car in the outer districts and use public transport to come to the conference venue.

Public transport in Vienna

During the conference a special ticket was provided for all participants. Further tickets can be bought at ticket machines located at the station’s entry. Ticket counters are only available at bigger stations like Stephansplatz or Karlsplatz. Tickets have to be stamped before riding and allow free transfer between the underground, S-Bahn, buses and trams.
